Each year, state associations are required to submit their annual plans of action which outline the initiative(s) the state association will undertake related to the Areas of Focus of the SNA Strategic Plan. 

This form must be completed and submitted by November 1, 2024. This form informs SNA of the state's activities and is a required submission for the State President to be eligible for the President’s Award Service later this year. 

Are you a SNA State Association or State Agency interested in holding an in person or virtual training session(s) on SNF’s LEAD to succeed Communications or Leadership Series? We are currently offering trainings in 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hours, and 4-hour increments. Titles and descriptions of each of our training sessions will be provided in the form. If you are looking to request training for multiple conferences or meetings please submit a separate request for each one.
If you are interested in holding trainings please provide the requested information so we can know how to best help you carry them out. Please submit training requests at least 8 weeks in advance to allow SNF enough time to match you with a trainer.

What is the Future Leaders Program?
The SNA Future Leaders Program provides an in-depth leadership experience for future leaders of the School Nutrition Association at SNA’s 2025 National Leadership Conference.
What are the benefits of participating?
Future Leaders are given the opportunity to network with other emerging leaders from across the country, hone their leadership and communication skills, and learn from seasoned SNA leaders and association executives in an interactive learning environment. The cohort will participate in a psychometric assessment to better understand themselves, understand others, and make the most of the relationships that affect them in the workplace.
Who can be nominated?
Each state affiliate may nominate one individual to this program. We encourage state affiliates to take a variety of attributes and the diversity of their membership into account when considering individuals who could be nominated. Nominations will be accepted on a first-come basis and will stay open until the program is full or until the cutoff date of February 14. Nominees MUST be current SNA members who hold, or aspire to, the SNA Certificate or SNS Credential. We will accept names for a waiting list in the event some states choose not to send someone.
Nominees should exhibit the following traits:
· Strong association leadership potential and support of state association/SNA initiatives
· Demonstrated interest in further developing association leadership abilities
· Committed to lifelong learning
· Dedicated to a career in school nutrition
The program is designed for members with leadership potential who are thinking about pursuing leadership opportunities. Individuals who are currently serving on a state board or have formerly held a state board position will not be considered for the program.
How can a Future Leader be nominated?
To nominate a Future Leader, state association leaders must submit:
· SNA Future Leaders Program Nomination Form (due to SNA by February 14, 2025)
· NLC Registration Form and Fee (due to SNA by the NLC 2025 Registration Deadline- preferably by the 2025 NLC Early Bird Registration Deadline)
How much will it cost?
The early bird registration fee for the SNA Future Leaders Program is $585 and includes the cost of the DiSC assessment as well as the registration fee for both the Future Leaders Program and the National Leadership Conference. The registration fee, transportation, and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the state association.

The SNF Equipment Grant Program will award 50 Innoseal Set-up Kits containing 2 Innoseal Professional Sealers and (1) case of Innoseal 28 pack multi-color refill valued up to $11,250 on a first-come, first-served basis per state to eligible applicants who demonstrate a need based on their current operations. *If SNF does not receive an application from each state the set-up kit will be awarded to the next eligible applicant.

• Eligible applicants must be a member of SNA as of January 1, 2024. 
• Members that joined after the stated deadline will NOT be eligible.  
• Members that joined before the stated date ARE eligible.
• Applications must represent the entire school district’s equipment needs.
• Applicant's MUST be fully equipped to receive and install awarded equipment in 2025. 
• Applications will be reviewed for need, plan to integrate new equipment and impact of new equipment on school nutrition program.  

The School Nutrition Foundation and Vulcan Equipment, an ITW Food Equipment brand, are committed to school foodservice. For the fifth year, the Vulcan Equipment Grant program will award equipment valued up to $50,000 to one (1) school district in need of improving its school meal kitchen facilities through a competitive grant process.            

Equipment received from this award will consist of pieces of equipment from 3 groups which includes:

• Select 1 from Group 1: Gas or Electric Stack Convection Oven, Cook and Hold Oven, or a Combi Oven (Gas/Electric)
• Select 1 from Group 2:  Endurance 6 Burner Range or Electric Connectionless Steamer with Stand 
• Get Group 3: Insulated Heated Holding Cabinet (2 each)                                                                                           

Please note there is a submission cap of 30 applications.

The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) and Winston Foodservice are committed to school foodservice. The Winston Equipment Grant program will award equipment to two (2) school districts valued up to $50,000 per district in need of improving its school meal kitchen facilities through a competitive grant process.

The Winston Equipment Grant Award 2 will consist of 5 pieces of equipment, which includes CVap® holding, cooking and retherming equipment. 

A Winston Foodservice representative will work closely with the Award 2 grant winner to determine its needs and help make final selections as well as arrange delivery of the equipment to the district.

Please note there is a submission cap of 30 applications for Winston Equipment Grant Award 2.

• Applications will be reviewed for need, plan to integrate new equipment and impact of new equipment on school nutrition program. If you are a finalist, you will be asked to create a 2-3 minute video displaying your kitchen equipment.

Scholarships are available to SNA members who are enrolled or will be enrolled in a degree program at a vocational/technical, undergraduate, graduate or post graduate level in the United States. The program of study should fall into one or more of the SNA Keys to Excellence subject areas: Operations; Nutrition, Administration; or Marketing and Communications.

This application form will automatically act as an application for each of the following scholarships:

Super Bakery MVP Award will honor two recipients with a $5,000 professional development scholarship each. 

SNA Professional Development: The SNA Professional Development Scholarship is funded by the School Nutrition Association. Scholarships of up to $2,500 each are awarded.

Schwan’s Food Service Scholarship: Schwan’s Food Service, Inc., makes an annual donation which provides funds to the SNF’s scholarship program. This scholarship enables SNF to “foster good nutrition in school lunch programs and to improve school foodservice management”. Scholarships of up to $2,500 each are awarded.

 The Superhero Scholarship is funded by Bart Christian and will offer multiple scholarships to SNA members each year.

Nancy Curry: Funded by Handgards, Inc., and friends of Nancy, this scholarship is for SNA members employed in school foodservice. One scholarship of $500 is awarded each year.
 

REQUIREMENTS

• The applicant must be an active member for a minimum of one year as of March 1, 2024 with the School Nutrition Association (SNA) and have a history of employment in school foodservice. If you need to confirm SNA membership, please call 1-800-877-8822.
• Scholars who have received previous awards are eligible to reapply as long as the scholarship has not been awarded for four consecutive years.
• The applicant must demonstrate an interest in obtaining a degree in a foodservice-related field and a desire to make school foodservice a career.
• The applicant must be registered in a degree program as an undergraduate or graduate student, or be accepted, at a vocational/technical institution, community college, college or university in the United States that offers a degree program that falls under one or more areas of the SNA Keys to Excellence.
•  A letter of acceptance must be provided with the application. If the applicant has been accepted to multiple institutions, send the letter from the institution that the applicant is most likely to attend.
• Applicant should have a satisfactory academic record and must submit a current transcript from the most recently attended academic institution indicating a cumulative grade point average. If a transcript is not available because the course has not yet begun or is still in session at application deadline, submit a letter of explanation.
• All portions of the application must be completed and submitted –  It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all portions of the application are received/submitted by the deadline.
• This opportunity will close once 40 eligible applications have been receive or by April 25, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. 
• Scholarships will only cover tuition, fees, and books.
• Applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by members of the School Nutrition Foundation Scholarship committee.
• Scholarship checks are distributed through the School Nutrition Foundation Funds and mailed directly to either the scholar or the scholar’s institution of higher learning.
