The School Nutrition Association (SNA) is a national, nonprofit professional organization representing  50,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country. Recognized as the authority on school nutrition, SNA has been advancing the availability, quality and acceptance of school nutrition programs as an integral part of education since 1946.

Policy for Delegate Attendance: States are allowed one (1) delegate for each 600 members or major fraction thereof. Each state is allowed a minimum of two delegate. The number of delegates permitted for each state shall be established using the tally of members in that state as of May 31. Please provide summer addresses for all delegates.

Fork Farms is committed to helping school meals programs grow and provide school nutrition professionals with the tools they need to help feed millions of school children each year. The Flex Farm is the most efficient, scalable, and transformative indoor, vertical hydroponic technology on the planet. By carefully controlling everything plants need to thrive, each Flex Farm can grow more than 394 pounds of produce annually. They’re portable and only require a standard electrical outlet and less than 10 square feet of space. For the 2026 program, four recipients will receive a Flex Farm with an estimated $5,500 in value.

This application is for school districts located in Fork Farms' West Region: Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming. 

Please note there is a submission cap of 30 applications. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be current director-level members of the School Nutrition Association (SNA).
  • Eligible applicants must be a member of SNA as of January 1, 2025
  • Members that joined after the stated deadline will NOT be eligible.  
  • Members that joined before the stated date ARE eligible.
  • Applications must represent the entire school district’s equipment needs.
  • Applicant's MUST be fully equipped to receive and install awarded equipment in 2026. 
  • Applications will be reviewed for need, plan to integrate new equipment and impact of new equipment on school nutrition program. If you are a finalist, you will be asked to create a 2-3 minute video displaying your kitchen equipment.
